Ubicación: Tingambato

It is located right in the middle of the route between Pátzcuaro and Uruapan. Its old name was “Tinganio” which means “place where the climate changes” and it is precisely here that the “hot land” begins.
Approximately 25 km from Pátzcuaro there is a sign to get to the archaeological zone. You have to go into the town and then park near a school and continue on foot for 500 meters between avocado orchards until you reach the pyramids.
These ruins bear an impressive resemblance in structure and layout (not in size) to those of Teotihuacan, in the state of Mexico. However, it is not known to date which culture they belonged to, since there are no inscriptions or vestiges of those who inhabited the place, which also has a ball court and a ceremonial tomb whose interior was sealed with mud mixed with cow's blood. It is a very small place, but it is worth visiting.
