Cuanajo is known as the birthplace of handcrafted furniture. Its artisans are renowned for their creativity and skill in creating wooden furniture, such as chairs, tables, dining rooms and bedrooms. Textile crafts can also be found, such as wool shawls, sashes and cotton embroidery.
Traditions:
Cuanajo is a community rich in traditions, among which the following stand out:
– The Patronal Feast of Our Lady of the Nativity, which is celebrated on September 8.
– The Night of the Dead, which is celebrated on November 1 and 2. During this celebration, homes are decorated with wooden horses adorned with marigold flowers and fruit. Men carry the horses to the offering, while women carry baskets.
In this church you can appreciate a beautiful atrium, full of flowers and a striking atrial cross.
