This unique house won the Guinness World Record in 1999 for being the narrowest house in the world, measuring just 1.42 meters wide. It was built in 1985 by Jorge Melgoza, a carnitas vendor, who acquired a small plot of land in the San Juan Bautista neighborhood to use as a warehouse, but ended up turning it into this house.

The house was inhabited by the Melgoza family until 2013 and has four floors. On the ground floor there is a single bed, a kitchen with a small stove and a laundry room. On the first floor, there is another bedroom with a balcony and a bathroom. The second floor has another well-lit bedroom, and the third floor has a terrace.

Today, the house is a museum open to the public, where visitors can experience firsthand what it is like to live in such a small space. The house is located near the Historic Center of Uruapan, and offers guided tours.
